Dark Ages

Leo, a Percheron cross, came to us so chubby that we feared founder was imminent. After getting him fit (losing that first hundred kilos was critical), we were still worried about the way the ground trembled as he walked by, but he was showing some real talent in the dressage arena. And he was just the kindest fellow.

Bec Tomsic, now resident in Italy, then leased him from us and kept him in training here at Copabella. The pair went on to several impressive placings, the most memorable being their win at Il Cadore in the Novice in 2005.

Leo wound up taking up residence in Victoria. His new owner had had health problems and needed something very reliable, but not without talent. Another perfect partnership was born.
