Sydney Jump Club
7th March 2010
Despite sweltering conditions, our horses jumped very well at jump club today, and there are lots of new photos in the Gallery to prove it. Aaron Moyes rode Bruce Almighty and Gamelan round the 1.10m course, and both looked very comfortable at this level. (Both these up-and-coming warmblood geldings are, by the way, for sale and more details can be found by clicking on the Horses for Sale drop-down menu on the home page.
Next it was young Vigil's turn to canter round the 1.10m track, and Julia was thrilled with his performance. This was the Visage youngster's first time out at this level, and the 4-year-old took it in his stride like an old pro. In fact, Julia said he felt just like his dad. Chris also cantered Cadiz around the 1.10m course, and our 4-year-old stallion just keeps getting better.
Julia's long-time partner Vertical Horizon was next in the 1.20m class. Anar has only recently come back into work after a breeding season spell, and the Pride of Kellina mare is looking wonderful. (Sadly for Julia, Anar's owner has decided she has to reduce horse numbers, and Anar is also for sale. Again, details to be found in the Horses for Sale section. And more photos in the Showjumping file in the Gallery.)
Next came Elayne Verner's 6-year-old Connemara gelding Glenormiston Paddy Caton, in his first time out at 1.05m. And he took it all in his stride like he'd been doing it for years.
Finally, new star Vedor came out with Julia and made the 1.30m track look utterly effortless. This 7-year-old Indoctro gelding is jointly owned by a small syndicate who have their sights firmly set on London, and if today's performance is anything to go by, London here we come!
