  • Like Father Like Son

    Stephen Smith of Elmare Warmbloods in Victoria has been in touch to report that their son of Cadiz, Chunk E, has also just taken up eventing with immediate success, finishing 6th on his dressage score of 75.2% plus a few time penalties cross-country in the Intro at Woady Yaloak HT over the weekend. Great result. Not only that but their young Visage son, Vulcan out of Sexy Legs, finished 2nd in the Prelim at the same show. Well done Elmare!

    Bronte and Valencia had another good day yesterday at Galston Jump Club, jumping clear in the meter class. Valencia is rising-6, and full sister to Julia's very successful Vegas in Europe.

    Stephen Smith of Elmare Warmbloods in Victoria has been in touch with some great results for his Visage youngsters at Albury. Six-year-old Atlas finished 2nd in the 110-115 class while Lily, a year older, finished 4th in the 1.25 speed class. And don't they both display their dad's style!!

  • Valencia

    It wasn't actually Valencia's showjumping debut, but today was her first day out with new jockey, Bronte Webb who manages BJW Equine out of Copabella. Valencia, rising-6 full sister to Julia's Vegas, was started and initially campaigned by the team at Redleaf. Today she had two lovely clear rounds in the 90cm and meter classes at Jump Club. Well done Bronte. A great start.

    There has been a change of management in the stables at Copabella and we are pleased to announce that Bronte Webb has taken over from Brooke Campbell who left for new horizons in Victoria at the beginning of the year.     While Visage continues to stand, Copabella has produced its last foal for the foreseeable future. Vegas's youngest brother Voodoo has just turned three months old. He's a strapping big colt with perfect manners, residing at Redleaf in the care of Tallara and Dave.

    We are pleased to announce that Bronte Webb of BJW Equine is taking over from Brooke Campbell who has moved to Victoria. Brooke will continue to visit Sydney regularly and will be available for coaching and clinics. Meanwhile Bronte, who has worked at Copabella with Brooke for several years, also has her coaching qualification and is available for lessons.   • Vegas in Rome

    Julia managed to compete successfully at the GCT in Rome recently. It is not easy juggling baby and horses so she doesn't get out as much as she would like to, but Vegas came home in the money once again in the 1.45 classes.

  • Oaks Young Horse

    Brooke had two Copabella horses at Camden for the weekend of competition. Yesterday Cypher (Cadiz-Vermont) was equal winner of the 5-year-old class, and today Camouflage (Cadiz-Venice) was equal winner of the 4-year-olds. Brooke, who owns Cam, was very pleased with his performance. Unfortunately the photo quality is rather poor as the show was held indoors and my camera doesn't do so well in those conditions.

    It's been another great weekend of jumping at SIEC, thanks to the tireless efforts of the organisers. Visage was once again very well represented, with Tallara Barwick and Verdi double-clear to take 2nd place in the Open 1.30 division after a short break. In the Young Rider 1.30 class, he had Choronic Dominant Visage with Kate Hinschen finish double-clear and 2nd, and Walaroo Carnival with Coco Dulhunty finish double-clear and 3rd.
