Weekend Wrap-Up

Uklarina.

The biggest news is from Europe where Georgie and Blue Rinse won the 2* Grand Prix at La Coruna, jumping faultless rounds and looking very flash. And what a great way to finish the competition year for Team Equest!

Meanwhile back in Sydney the Summer Classic at SIEC provided four days of mixed weather and results. The young horse classes were held in pouring rain on the Thursday, and our youngsters were unimpressed with the difficult ground and conditions. Friday was clear enough, but cold and windy. This did not stop Voltage from doing an excellent double-clear in the 6 year old class, just out of the placings. Vermont also jumped lovely clear rounds in the 1.25 class on Saturday.

Uklarina finished 7th in the tough Future Stars class in the main ring, to qualify for the final on Saturday, at which point her rider turned into a speed demon, resulting in a few down in the second round. This was Uki's last show for the foreseeable future, as she is now going into foal to Visage. What an exciting and eagerly awaited foal that is going to be!

Unfortunately Cadiz was not up to recent form, having rails in the warm-up classes and then more rails in the World Cup qualifier on Sunday. He has come a long way in a very short time since returning home, and we now just need to take stock and work out a programme for 2015.
