Oaks Young Horse Finals

Colmine.

Thanks to the organisers for a great show today. Competition was strong, with many very exciting young horses showing huge promise.

We've had an excellent outing, beginning with Tulara Coalmine, the exciting young stallion owned by Bangalow, winning the 4-Year-Old class and finishing Overall Champion for the series. Atom, as he is known at home, also recently won his classes at the Oaks Young Horse show as well as the Greater Sydney World Cup Weekend.

Not to be overshadowed, Voltage followed this up by being crowned Overall Champion for the 6-Year-Old series after a close finish in 2nd place in the class today. Voltage has also had an outstanding run of wins and places in the qualifiers and went into the class today with the leading point score.

Finally, Cashmir finished 4th in the 7-Year-Old class, up against a very strong field of predominantly much more experienced horses. Cashmir has had a late start, having had time out to produce her lovely Visage filly, Verona, who is now rising three. She prepared for the show today by finishing 6th in the 1.25 class at Hawkesbury yesterday, and now looks set to march up through the grades.
