Futurity Win for Voltage

Champion.

It's official. Voltage is currently at the top of the list of future stars in Australia, after winning the Futurity at the National Titles. It was an incredibly challenging class which saw only three combinations out of 70+ manage double-clear rounds.

There were, in fact, three Visage offspring in the final line-up, with Verdi and Tallara Barwick finishing 5th and Colourbond and Sarah-Louise MacMillan 7th. Both went clear in the first round, but Colourbond had a time fault.

Verdi and Tallara then re-entered the big ring to finish a strong 4th in the Mini-Prix which saw only one go clear in another tough class.

Meanwhile Voltage and Brooke headed over to Ring 2 to compete in the National 6-year-old Final, and again they went double-clear to finish 2nd.

Finally Luke Brown's Frosty smashed it in the Speed Class in the main ring, finishing fastest Thoroughbred off the Track (which earned prize money from Racing Victoria) and in the top 10 overall.

Voltage was again double-clear in the final of the Ruby series on Sunday but other riders went crazy fast and Brooke wisely opted to do a sedate round in preparation for Melbourne Royal this week.
